Panda 4.0 and Payday Loan 2.0 unleashed by Google

It has been confirmed that Google has launched two web spam updates viz. Panda 4.0 and Payday Loan 2.0. Matt Cutts confirmed Panda 4.0 on twitter.

Search Engine Land initially announced the launch of Payday Loan 2.0 and was later tweeted by Matt Cutts as well.

Google Panda was launched in the year 2011 to provide web searchers with the best quality results and to lower the rank of thin quality or low quality websites. A huge surge in the ranks of various social networking sites and new websites was seen along with the ranks of sites with too many advertisings going down drastically.

Both these search engine algorithm started rolling out since Tuesday and have caused serious waves in SERP and in the rankings of various websites. The fact that both Panda 4.0 and Payday Loan 2.0 are hitting the World Wide Web at the same time, it would make things a little more challenging for webmasters to check the damage. It also means that SEO professionals have a big challenge ahead and they would need to make changes in their websites so that the lost ranks can be recovered.

While Payday Loan impacts spam queries and low quality websites being targeted by Panda, webmasters might get hit by both these new algorithms at the same time or get hit by one after another.

Though most people are complaining that with the launch of Panda, their rank will seriously get be affected, according to some websites will also be benefitted by this launch as there will be better traffic.

• Panda 4.0

The details regarding this latest algorithm is limited as nothing much has been disclosed. Matt Cutts have defined Panda 4.0 as a major update to the actual existing algorithm and much more than just data refresh. This can bring about a big change in which websites work and can actually lay the foundations of a greater future. It affects different languages to varied degrees.

• Payday Loan 2.0

This algorithm was first launched by Google in June last year and it was expected that the next update was on its way. This takes into account spams like health insurance, payday loans, car insurance, accidental claims and the similar ones. People who search the internet regularly have a fair idea about the fact that low quality websites starts appearing for queries that are similar to the ones mentioned above. Payday Loan 2.0 and Google will prevent such things from happening.
